I’m John, author of Dunderpunk. I took an interest in rum several years ago, and I began writing reviews for Reddit and the Aficionados Discord server as a hobby. It eventually became a serious enough hobby that I created this blog, which serves as a hub for all of my reviews and articles.

SCORING SYSTEM

I use a ten point scale for scoring known as the t8ke scale. Here’s a breakdown of how to interpret the scores:

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but many things I’d rather have.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
